The Cost

Finally, the Cost was released in the United States. Again, The Frames put out a quality product. Not quite Burn the Maps or For the Birds, but very good.

This album comes across as lower key. Songs like Falling Slowly, People Get Ready, or Sad Songs lack the punch of earlier numbers like Revelate or Pavement Tune.

Really, this album is a perfect follow up to Glen Hansard's solo project, The Swell Season. In fact, Falling Slowly is on both records.

Very good album. Worth you time. Get it. Now.

I first heard of The Frames when I saw Once in theater. It was a delightful movie and I quickly started listening to the music of Glen Hansard. It was a nice surprise.
